  1. Rink Size and Division

    1. The official size of a Dekhockey rink may vary from 150 to 155 feet long by 75 to 80 feet wide and is enclosed by boards 4 to 4 1/2 feet high. The corners my be either rounded or angled. The surface should be an approved plastic modular deck.

  1. Lines and Division of Surface

    1. The playing surface is divided into two zones referred to as the offensive (attacking) zone and defensive zone separated by a "center" blue line 12 inches wide. Two white (or black) "goal" lines 3 inches wide are positioned 12 1/2 feet from each end of the rink. Two red "clearing" lines 3 inches wide are positioned 20 feet from each side of the center line.
    2. There are four corner face-off spots each 12 inch squares, at each corner of the rink positioned 35 feet from the end of the rink and 20 feet from the side. A center face-off spot being a 12 inch square, is positioned on the blue line in the center of the rink. The corner and center face-off spots are encircled by a yellow line 3 inches wide forming a circle 24 feet in diameter. Four "off -side" face-off spots, each 12 inch square, are positioned 20 feet from the boards and 15 feet from each side of the center blue line.

  1. Goal Position and Goal Crease

    1. Each goal cage is positioned on the goal line so that the inside of the goal post lines up directly with the outer edge of the goal line nearest to each end of the rink. The open side of the goal cages face each other in line with the center face-off spot.
    2. In front of each goal cage there is a yellow goal "crease" line 3 inches wide. The "crease" extends 5 feet from the goal line starting 12 inches outside each goal post and joining across the goal cage.

  1. Player, Penalty and Scorer-Timekeeper's Boxes

    1. Outside of the playing surface, each rink shall have two player's boxes each measuring 20 feet long by 48 inches deep and a scorer-timekeeper-penalty box measuring 10 feet long by 48 inches deep. The players' and penalty boxes may be altered in size without affecting the rules. Only players, coaches and officials are allowed in their respective boxes.

  1. Goal Net

    1. The goal net or cage is made of steel piping and measures 6 feet wide by 4 feet high by 27 inches deep at the bottom and 18 inches wide at the top. The sides and back are covered with netting. The color to the typing is black. The goal cage is held in position with pins that extend 3 inches up through the surface into the tubing of the goal posts.

  1. Referee's Crease

    1. On the surface immediately in front of the penalty box and the timekeeper's seat there shall be an area 13 feet long by 7 feet wide marked by a 3 inch wide line which is the referee's crease. No member of any team can approach the referee while he is in this crease.

  1. Time Clock and Sounding Device

    1. Each rink must have a stop watch or timing device and a horn, gong or other sounding device for timekeeping and signaling end of periods.
